What do you guys do to kettles? I think I've probably had three in 22 years. Current one is an Eco kettle - has a low minimum water level. The spout filter has torn but if I can't get that replaced I'll be fixing it with a bit of fabric.

Current one is 2 years old. Its predecessor was only replaced because we sold everything when we went off rtw... the previous one had been going strong for +10 years or so and the current one is exactly the same model. electric and no issues with it...

You've got to talk nicely to them, that's the key to a long relationship. Ask them how their day was when you get home, remember the anniversary of when you bought it. Make sure the water is nice and soft and you put in just the right amount.

Costs more than a kettle, so just buy a cheapo kettle, if it dies within a year its replaced under warranty, over a year then every boil is a bonus, and that not something you hear very often.
