I was rescued, and I'm grateful for it, from my intentions to play the bagpipes by an Uilleann piper and I frequent a more sedate set of forums dedicated to a more subtle form of piping. Having said that there's some fascinating reading to be had on the Bob Dunsire site.

My wife plays the Northumbrian smallpipes, I must remind her of this...........or do I mean suggest it?

I play the autoharp and my kids are haunted by the scene in one of Billy Connolly's videos where he dances naked round some standing stones playing the autoharp - they are clearly terrified I will try to emulate this, and rightly so, 'cos Billy weren't a pretty sight and neither would I be.
