After Monty Veda suggested this...

But a lot of stuff i watched as a kid I've still enjoyed as an adult... but that's a different thread.

... In the thread about T.V. you liked years ago, now being a bit crap, I thought I'd start this one!

TBH, right now, the only ones I can really think of is London's Burning and Casualty (the earlier ones anyway).
With London's burning, it was quite good (to my untrained eye) up until the last 2 series or so (as is always the way with these things - You always know they have run out of ideas when it starts getting a bit stupid and crap. They even changed the music in the second last series, but reverted to the original one for the final series).

Unfortunately, I never got to see it enough on a Sunday evening as my parents always wanted to watch the Antiques Roadshow, Songs Of Praise and whatever 'Period' thing was on at the time 😴😴😴

I also want to say I, Claudius.

By my time, it was on a video and already a good 15 years old though, but, still... Wow!

Aarrgghh, blink man, BLINK!!
My eyes are sore just watching that! 😆:

I do not watch much telly now, so I do not know if there is a more modern equivalent, or whether it still holds it's own.

There's probably a few more that I'll remember later on as well.

I am not sure I like the more modern series though, I feel they should have left it be years ago.
Yes, they should have left it around series six or thereabouts I think. The earliest series had far better distinction of characterisation and that gradually faded over the years. Cat, in particular, was really very cat-like early on but became 'just another biped' as things went on (inevitably so, perhaps).

It's as I was saying about London's Burning, there came a point where you could see a distinct shift between what it had been and where it was now heading.

Sad, but you see it so often with T.V. shows.

... Anyway, enough of the critiqués, I guess that should be for the other thread really.

Father Ted!! How could I have forgotten that one?

I do wonder if Dermot Morgan hadn't died, if it would have gone the way of things mentioned above though.
