I think TGL still stands up because all 4 leads are hugely charismatic. The scripts and plots didn't do too much work - it was very character-driven, and it was perfectly cast. IMO!

Whilst I do remember it from my childhood, I once saw a Bill & Ben episode as an adult. My first thought was whatever the makers had been smoking, perhaps they should have cut down a bit

To be fair, apart from one or two ill-judged blackface scenes much of it is still vey funny. Kitten Kong and the Eccie Thump one were comedy genius. And to give them credit there was a scathing parody of the stupidity and injustice of "apart-height" so they were very much aligned with the "wind of change"

I think it would depend on the age range of the group you were in, I bet you could start singing the theme tune and lots of people would remember it, even if they couldnt quite picture the show it was from.

I'm not sure me singing anything would be be with anything other than terror tbh
