My Genesis Croix de Fer has recently developed an annoying click on every rotation of the chain wheel. It stops if I pedal only with my left leg and I think its worse under load. I have swapped the right SPD pedal with one from another bike but the click persists. I've done less than 1500 miles in the short time since I bought the bike. Any thoughts before I take it back to Evans?

As you are doing, process of elimination. Try riding with different shoes, without cleats. Also check that your shoe is not catching cable ends.
Good luck

BB would be my guess as it stops whan you pedal with one leg..
i put a new press fit BB on my cube mtb last month for the same reason..it was shot on one side.

check post and frame as said first...

I think this may have fixed it. I adjusted the saddle up a millimetre or so and I've not heard the click in the last week. I find it strange that it was a click rather than a creak if this was indeed the cause. Time will tell.

Yep, had the same symptoms. Fingers crossed you've located the annoyance.

I had annoying clicking like that recently. Most of the noise was coming from a loose plate on top of the SPD pedal (the 3 posidriv screws were not quite tight enough) and most of the remaining noise was coming from the cleat which was also not quite tightened down enough.

I'm glad it doesn't seem to be a warranty claim for the BB. In fairness it was more annoying to people I ride with. Some people are a bit OCD about such things

Well it drove me round the bloody bend ^_^
It was so nice to have located the problem, eliminate it and have a nice quiet ride.

@ianrauk fixed a similar problem for me on a night ride. The crank was getting loose on the BB axle/rod thingy. It clicked at every rotation. One of the travelling mechanical Gods produced a large hex key and fixed it.
