It's a shame. Not just another megabucks conglomerate, but a company that filled a particular niche.

A real shame, especially considering how much they raised the game with kids bikes in particular. The market is an unforgiving thing.

I saw somewhere that Isla Rowntree was not finishing up the business due to cashflow problems but she justed to get.out of the business.

shame ...some wonderful bikes for kids that were new to the subject and would have given them a good introduction to continue on in their passage to the future ...many a youngster has started their journey to cycledom on junk and regretted the experience because of bad quality mass market tat that is easily available not knowing there is better and biased themselves against it

Yes it was (currently still is) a wonderful company and I bought quite a few bikes and accessories from them.
