Saw that on Facebook & twitter last night. I sometimes use that route on my commute.
For the sake of the family I do hope they don't take too long identifying him.
Worryingly a friend who cycles has just tweeted that the skid marks look like they come from behind the debris i.e. The car hit the cyclist from behind.

Saw it in the Echo this morning, really sad that he has died and no one has missed him as yet - RIP

UPDATE

On Monday, police said the cyclist has now been identified after a member of the public contacted them as a result of the appeal.
Specialist officers are in contact with the man's family.
A police spokesperson said: "We won't be releasing his name at this time but it will be issued in due course.
