No-one was hurt and the pilot escaped unharmed, after a masterful display of flying skills




I love watching these aircraft fly and keep up the traditions and memory of those who flew them in conflict

Reportedly a hydraulic failure resulting in a landing without either flaps or landing gear. Same aircraft had a landing gear-related emergency last week, too.

Contrary to the title of the link, the crash was not at Duxford, where it had been displaying, but on its return to Yeovilton airfield that evening.

I was at Duxford where it had just displayed.

It was flying over my house.

I saw the Sea Vixen display, when it was liveried in Red Bull colours, at the Classic Jets airshow at Kemble a few years ago.
It was a very impressive aircraft and certainly the loudest!

The DM think landing a jet at 130 knots with no undercarriage isn't liable to damage it...
