I've no idea about rules but I could imagine any responsible landlord will be doing routine inspections to see what maintenance might be required and/or check for things like mould, things that might affect tenant health?

Eg commercial rental agencies tend to have a property inspection schedule written into the contract (but being"for profit" and inspections costing time & money they might not always happen).

Given that social landlords have been found to have neglected property to the detriment of tenants health. You would hope a good landlord would be doing routine inspections so no one suffers.

Good morning,

Do we really need a thread a day with a 'new' scam? They're not really new, the same old thing with slight variations over and over. We all get them constantly and most just delete them without a second thought. Those the are susceptible to them are unlikely to be reading all of these and making note of the specifics.

For me the problem with long running threads is they tend to attract comments on a post as well as the subject.

So you never know if the addittion to the thread is an addition on the subject of the thread or Wayne calling Tracy an <expression of our choice>.

I had a phone call yesterday, saying that £500 was going to be debited from my PayPal account and if I wanted to stop the debit I had to press 1 on my phone. I didn't, thinking mmm, I don't have a PayPal account. Then the phone went dead. If I'd pressed 1 what would've happened?🤔 I have the phone number of the caller. Shall I post it or is it not worth it?

A work colleague once tried to convince me to buy SD cards for my digital camera on ebay as it was great value. I just walked across the street to Asda and bought two for £10. No waiting for packages to arrive, no potential scams...plus two cards to use in my hand.

If you had pressed 1 then they have got you on the hook and you’d have been put through to someone whose job iwould be to land the catch. It’ll probably have ended up in one of the usual moving money around to ‘protect it’ kind of scam.
