Its a deli in notting hill, I looked it up.

When I was a teenager people used to ask each other for their phone numbers. If a girl didn't like you she would give you one for the local Chinese takeaway.

I received a text message about half an hour ago at 1.31am supposedly from Royal Mail saying ''We failed to successfully bring item @@@@ to you as no one was available to sign for it. Use (gives a link) to rebook now". I pressed the link which said Delivery attempted Tuesday 11 February. Your parcel will be returned to Sender unless you book a redelivery by a fee of (£1.99) followed by a 'Proceed'. Am I right in thinking it'll be proceed to giving my name and address, then my bank details to pay the £1.99 'fee' then maybe something worse? I haven't ordered anything online. The only thing I'm waiting for is a £25 gift voucher from the Office for National Statistics for doing a telephone survey last month, which I'm sure wouldn't need signing for as it should be just an envelope with the voucher in. The website looks very much like the Royal Mail one, but ive never been asked for this before and I've never had a text message from Royal Mail out of 'office hours' and especially so late. Plus Royal Mail always leave a card through my door if such as the above happens.

Rule of thumb - never click on the link , I don’t know much about computers but that is like opening a your front door to a stranger and stepping aside to let them do what they want

I had a scam Txt message the other day. The mysterious sender reckoned, "we need to talk."

I disagreed, blocked the number and deleted the message. You have to get out of bed early to catch out Prince Drago of Lagos, Nigeria (well, I will be any day now if my long lost Uncle is correct.)

Because of course Royal Mail posties are all out at 1am trying to deliver…

Is this a scam? Sorry about the quality of the photo, but it's a photo of a photo. Meaning the below message appeared on my new phone, so I took a photo of it on my old phone, then took a photo on my new phone, enabling me to post it on here. 🧐

Genuine.
There is a kind hearted company wants to give you 50 grand and you shed doubt on their motives, shame on you.

I feel you need to be very cautious of anything you receive by text, email etc. By clicking the link in the first post you've potentially sent data back to the scammers. At the very least you've confirmed your phone number is live.

The second post is so blindingly obvious a scam no one should need to ask.

Anyone as apparently unsure as yourself should simply report and delete anything unexpected received without doing anything else. The scammers are searching for folk who have these uncertainties.

Block later just in case? And anyway I doubt they would send a 2nd unsolicited text in any, likely, mass texting.

Google often, somehow manages to mess up the phone number with its SMS embedded RCS system.
I got asked 'have you changed your number' shorthiy after I ported my number for my current 24 month mobile deal.
It oniy righted itself only after I resorted to turning off RCS for a couple of months.

I thought you lived in a housing association flat? They would be the ones who were entitled to the £50,000, if it existed.
