Has anyone managed to get a decent "still" photo out of a Muvi? If so how?

On my commute across Blackheath this morning, there was a stunning localised fog that I'm hoping the Muvi picked up and would make a good photo.

As ever these things are better to look at than be in btw. (Well I've never seen a weather report for a "warm fog")

Windows Movie Maker will allow you to take snapshots from your .avi file.  It will be a bit hit or miss as to the quality.  Depends how much you were moving at the moment it captured that frame.

I think the resolution of the Muvi camera is 1MP so quality might be a bit rudimentary if you want to print copies of stills taken from your footage.

I have got stills from my footage, mainly by using the snapshot option in VLC media player. Which can be downloaded for free at: VideoLAN

VLC can also cope with corrupted AVI files and repair them. So if you by accident managed to turn off with out stopping the recording, then you can recover what you recorded and watch it.
