Made up my first ride on new my new 800, had a destination in mind and then just clicked away on the back roads on Garmin connect. Clipped it on the bike and off I went. By the time I got going I had forgotten my route and just followed the arrows on the Garmin. Found myself going down roads I never knew existed and totally enjoyed myself, best ride I've had for ages, I'll be back clicking out a new route soon.............totally recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and when I returned I uploaded to Garmin connect, Endomondo and Strava!!!!!! I love stats!!!

I'm still using my 705, it's perfect for my needs. People look at it like its an old 80's brick mobile phone but it has never let me down, I've also got a 605 which is still fantastic.

Still got mine and I agree with you. It is excellent at doing what it was designed to do. I can't see myself bothering to replace it till it fails. For all the new additions to the latest versions, the basics are still the same.

I use endomondo and I'm curious to know what the difference is between strava and endomondo
i use both when upgrading from my 800 but use endo when on short rides using my phone.
strava is good for the segments and very addictive, endo is better for the raw data such miles per month etc.
Ive stopped taking as much notice of strava as it started to become obsessive and stoped me enjoying just riding, so i only upload now and then, endo is my choice

Lordy. I've had bikes that cost less.

Nice bikes too.

The satnav element appeals to me (having a truly dreadful sense of direction) and I'm tempted by one of the lowlier Garmins - but OTOH I've never got so badly lost that shelling out £200 - £300 notes seems like a better idea.
