Another new lad - already hooked!

Just thought I'd introduce myself, been lurking for a couple of weeks but decided to finally make an account!

Anyway, bought an Allez Sport two weeks back in an attempt to regain some fitness after quitting football since starting uni, and I'm totally hooked.

If you can't tell from my username, I'm from Newcastle, but live in the outskirts so most my rides tend to be on the border of Northumberland or along the coast, which I think is helping me love my rides so much.

Been over the moon with my progress so far, two weeks ago 10 miles killed me, but yesterday I did 38 miles at just under 15mph which I think is pretty good going.

So yeah, this is me, and I'm sure you'll see me about the forum at points.

Welcome aboard, you're making great progress and do have some of the most beautiful countryside and coastline to ride.

Loads of folks here from Newcastle and the surrounding areas - even Sunderland...they finally found out the wheel's been invented.;) Some excellent places to cycle and a great mix of flattish and hilly rides to be had.

Cycling better than football IMO  There is more cake involved for a start.

Cheers for the welcome everyone, much appreciated!

Certainly agree that I'm blessed with plenty of fantastic scenery for my rides, hoping the weather stays half decent for a while longer, already dreading the thought of riding in the rain.
