Hope they work out for you - my LBS rate these - they all ride cheap tyres with tyre liners in preference to more expensive "protected" tyres.

I'm too much of a fancy dan roadie to do so though ;-)

Thanks dude and I hope so too

I ride with contis, never had a problem with 'em! I have heard that armadillos are the dog's nads for puncture protection. I won't ride with them because they're a lot heavier than contis.

At some point, when putting the tyre back on after yet another puncture I was stretching it I noticed the smallest of holes in the thread. On further inspection I could see a very very small shard of glass inside.
.

Thank god I read this, had a puncture today (first for a long time) and mended it and got into work okay. Although I checked the tyre before refitting a new inner tube it was only a cursory look / feel.

On reading this I have just checked again and taken the whole tyre off and found a little shard of glass lurking waiting to strike on the way home!!

So many thanks.

My 7th day commute today and after i have worked 7 days I tend to check my tyres for shards of glass as once they get in the tyre they tend to stay there.I have a greentyre on the back which cannot get a p@nct@re but has a poor reputation on here. The front has an armadillo with a thicker thorn resistant inner tube.

I use £10 tyres, they're rated as 'training' and have a belt and work very well for me

Just checked out these greentyres and they look good.. but as above how are you getting on with them, might be something to consider for the future..

The jury is out.I'd need to do at least a thousand miles or something.

Obviously they are not as good as normal innertube and tyres because obviously a tyre acts as protection/suspension for the bike so im keeping an eye out for the 'buckleness' of the wheel.

Haven't had no probs...I must have done about 80 mile on them now.

Have to get back after a good testing. Also they are the wrong size.I wanted 700x25 and I got 700x23 although I don't know if I cocked up the order.

Ok on the rear so far but i've heard they may not grip on the front.

Still as 75% of my p@nct@res are on the rear that's the best place to have it.

Cool mate, keep us posted on your progress ;)

Found out they don't do 700x25 so no cock up with the order as far as I know,so im going to try 700x28 at a guess.Im sure I ordered from the website before but I don't know how I did it as I couldn't last night.

DON'T DO IT! Solid tyres are a Really Bad Idea. Terrible ride, terrible grip, and they put your frame thru' a pounding every time you ride. I bought a second hand bike and one of the rear dropouts snapped soon after, and I have no doubt that the root cause was the solid tryes it had been running on.

Everyone hates punctures, they're the bane of every cyclist's life. Solid tyres can't get punctures, yet they've never taken more than a tiny fraction of one per cent of the market. Wonder why...

That's what I think.Ride aint too bad though.Plus rear tyre so grip isn't too much of a problem. As I say im monitoring the rear wheel and frame.(not while im moving)
