What lands are currently yours. Just asking as I live in Yorkshire and I’m wondering should I be touching my forelock when I reply to your posts M’lud.
I've ancestors buried at Kirkstall Abbey, who owned land thereabouts, with others owning lands in what is now Leeds an Wakefield on one side.

Various lands owned around the Humber in the East Riding on the other side.
Given to them by the Lord Chief Protector for services in the Civil war.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
It's not something that interests me much. I had an aunt who did a load of research and got in touch with distant cousins in the US. She died years ago though. It's as much as I can do to remain in touch with my living immediate relatives (both of them).

I strongly suspect my ancestors were farm workers, poachers and serfs.

Well, someone had to do the work while your ancestors were feasting in the Great Hall.

My Bro is still working his way through the family tree.
Early 1800s my great great great granddad was put in prison for 2 weeks.
The serious crime was..........
boarding a train without buying a ticket
Anyone else with such despicable family secrets ?

Not as interesting as yours, but my Dad (a farmer) once appeared in court for not owning a shotgun license. He was fined £17
