Another stupid CP in Havering

Can anyone think why someone thought this was a good idea. It is the only CP within a mile.

Its to encourage you to move right over to the left ready for the refuge pinch point. Don't want to delay those taxpayers, do we now?

You can just about make it out on the other side of the road - there appears to be a foot-path/alley-way just before the cyclepath (coming in the other direction). You can just about make out the concrete bollards. I'm guessing it's to let cyclists roll out of the alley and join the road - the little cyclepath keeping the cars and bikes separate going into a pinch point.

Maybe there had been accidents where cyclists came out of the alleys and turned left onto the road, just as cars were moving to the nearside to avoid the traffic islands?

Also, with cars allowed to park over the curbs, any parked there would block the view of either the car or the bike?

Since the lane finishes with a solid white line, cyclists must come to a permanent stop at its end. It would rapidly be filled with law-abiding riders who would need an emergency feed/toilet station to deal with their bodily function needs
