Anyone know what's happened to @Pat "5mph" ?

Not been seen for a month or so, and no apparent reason, unless I missed something.

I know she was concerned about her residency status post-Brexit, but otherwise she appeared reasonably content.

Posters do sometimes just get bored with their chosen forum and stop participating.

Hopefully the reason for Pat's absence is nothing more than that.

She's still posting rides on Strava and they are still in Scotland.

This is on or near her route. I hope he's not pointing at where she was kast seen!

The banks of the Clyde subsided last week after a weir jammed open, causing the water level to drop substantially.

Hey guys, I'm still in Glasgow, still cycling lots, still working lots of crazy shifts.
Stopped logging into CC about a month ago, I was frittering away too much time on here, not getting done stuff I should be doing.
CC is like a bloody addiction, stopped on purpose but was tempted every day hehehe.
Finally, got myself organised again, was going to log in last night, the computer decides to update ad infinitum!
Got @smokeysmoo alert on fb, now I've 55 Cc alerts to sort through ... Help!
Thanks for thinking of me, I'm on the phone now, will answer to PM's properly later, it's a lovely day here, need to potter up some plants!

Why not send her a PM asking if she's OK, rather than starting a nosey parker thread about her? People should be allowed to move on if they wish to, without being prodded and speculated about.
You're all heart, TMN!
Surely these threads are a simple case of showing some concern for the wellbeing of a long standing regular contributor who suddenly and for no apparent reason stops posting?

I would have thought that sending someone a PM asking if they are OK is MORE "nosey parker" than starting a thread on here to simply ask if anyone has any idea about the member in question's welfare. That also serves to allay the concerns of other interested members, which in this case included myself.
In any case if someone isn't logging in (as was the case with Pat since early August) then they aren't going to be aware of a PM..

In the case of Vernon, what would have happened if no-one had personal knowledge and had not posted the sad news of his passing? Would we all still be assuming he was alive and well, but choosing not to post?

We are all (well; some!) cyclists and therefore perhaps more vulnerable to accidents than other groups; so it's only natural that a sudden disappearance by a regular member will lead to concern.

Anyway - good to hear you're well, Pat. But I was aware you were anyway, thanks to other sites. I do hope that checking on Strava isn't too "nosey parker" :okay:.
