My wife has stolen my KIndle Voyage.. so it needs replacement

I looked on the Amazon site for a refurbished one

...and found one

At £214 it is only £6 cheaper than a brand new one, and it appears that if you don't have "Prime" it becomes more expensive than the new one!

Anyone else found "anti-bargains" where the product offer is actually worse than the original price

My nearest supermarket (a well known store with an orange livery) went through a phase of being slightly less than honest with their offers. Stuff like beer being labelled up as £1.55 each or 3 for £5.

Don't know if they still do it as it's now been a while since I got beer from them.

I hate the way supermarkets use unit pricing on sale specials, when they don't tell you which price (normal or sale) they are using.

Biggest anti-bargain are Nescafe refill packs, more expensive than the original glass jar-fulls.

Tesco often do those tortilla chips that are 95p a pack or 2 for £2. We just don't buy them

Tesco's beer offers are always a bit suss... eg. £2.39 each or 3 for £5... but when it's not on offer, the single bottle is around £1.70.

Bottles of ale at £1.50 each, then a few days later they're £1.99 or four for £6.00.

I was talking to one of the girls I know who works in our local Tesco as she was putting those very labels out.

When I pointed it out to her she laughed and gave me a knowing smile.

m&s used to do 99p taster packs of rather good cheddar cheese. These had a significantly lower unit price fhan buying a 500g block. I got funny looks at the till when buying maybe 10 taster packs each time. They've stopped doing it now for some reason, so I buy big blocks
