I need to write a persuasive essay. One of the topics I'm considering is along the lines of "Cyclists have a Right to use the road". If anyone has any links to some anti cycling rants (in the press, national or local) that I could counter it would be much appreciated (obviously I'm googling away here!)

cheers.

Michael

Edit:

Please post up the daily insults hurled at you also, get on the pavement, I pay road tax etc etc etc.

Far too much to chose from, matey!

Perhaps look at the "Cyclists are a menace" debate (Oxford Union or something I think), Mathew Paris in The Times with "piano wire" was it... The Oxford and Cambridge newspapers have some more intelligent debate, or go to the Bristol Evening Post or Daily Mail for something more negative.

Rant 1 - from wife:

'It's far too cold today, you'd better go on the train'

Rant 2 - from mum:

'Get back inside and change into normal clotthes. Your not going on your frigging bike'

I know they're not what you asked for, but hope they help

I'm off to a start, have fitted in the Matthew Parris thing and everything else is from my own experience. Then I got disturbed by the wife/dogs so I'm no longer in my "writers zone"!

Thanks for the tips, it was what I needed to get me started.

There is an article about anti cycling social network sites in this months Cycle Plus.

Sad people. I mean, putting up a facebook page to have a go at cyclists, if it was'nt so sad I'd laugh ;)
