More people cycling means more cagers expect to see cyclists, meaning they look out for us more.

Bugger, I looked but thought, as it had just made the Guarniad today, that it would be a more recent post on here and got too clever with the search.

Do you think an expression like that is helpful? Seems to me it promotes the 'us and them' attitude that encourages conflict.

;) So, now "cagers" comes in for the PC criticism, lest we offend people for pointing out that cars have safety cells. How is it any more contentious than drivers (who drive their safety cells) or motorists (who use motors to provide propulsion for driving their safety cells).

Given the number of people who use the word "motons", that's classy, that is.

Yes, to be honest, I do think that word is useful. It categorises, in 6 letters, the exact group of people I wanted to categorise, whether they are driving cars, buses or arctics, from a WVM to a pensioner, without fear or favour.

I would suggest that someone who wants to read conflict into it should consider for a moment where that conflict may lie.

That's brightened my day, that has.

I did a report through it the other day. I am not sure how it will benefit it, but anything that supports cyclists like this has to be worth a try.

It's quite easy to use.
