Anti-Social Behaviour Leaflet

I don't know if anyone else received one, but we got some Anti-Social Behaviour Leaflet from the Government in the post recently. Had a flick through it on the loo, as you do, and anti social behaviour includes "intimidating groups taking over public spaces".

Does that mean that some car drivers can get an ASBO? Certainly some can be an 'intimidating group'....and there's a reasonable number on the road (the public space).

I saw a little clip on ASBO's playing in McDonalds last week and it was showing a group of young lads in hoods in a park with a caption asking who had the ASBO. It turned out to be the old fella who deliberately dropped litter, just about in view! But an ASBO for dropping litter???

So Thomas, I think you probably could stamp one on some "intimidating" motorists!!!!

It isn't really that social. Fair enough if it was an accident, but otherwise stick it in your pocket. Being old isn't an excuse ....but that's a whole other bag of beans!

Quite right. I'd go further than an ASBO and introduce the death penalty. I can't stand people who deliberately drop litter.

An ASBO for an OAP litter dropper is another instance of the govt picking on easy targets! Of course McDonalds has the cheek calls itself a 'restaurant', so anything you may learn in there is dubious anyhow!

Irrelevant really as ASBO's are pointless gimmicks. The point is your average OAP is not a major problem. I suspect more people think your stereotyped 18 year old is.

Thing is, if the 18 year old hoodie would get an ASBO for dropping litter, so should an OAP. Where as, the OAP in question is arguably, not average.

Some OAPs are litter-dropping menaces on society. Some do it absent mindedly. Some young people do it out of spite, some out of laziness.

The ASBO is there for anti-social behaviour, and therefore should be used on all OAPs and Hoodies who drop litter out of spite, revenge, or for deliberate provocation, not out of laziness or lack of awareness.

Whilst it may be true to say that this aggressive litter dropping is more prevalent in the young, being old does not exempt you completely from such attitudes. Despite what mid-market tabloids would have you believe.
