Any bargains on budget wheelsets ?

I did hope my wheels from my best bike would get me through winter - but they are out true, not spinning terribly well and the braking surface is very worn.

So I need a set of wheels to get me through winter - best I can see is Mavic Askuims for around £130 (Merlin) - Any Ive missed ?

Which wheels do you have currently? Depending on the sort of mileage you do, you may well be able to get them through to spring with a bit of grease in the hubs and a bit of time with a spoke key.

I'm sure they weren't but they still look like a pretty decent set of winter/training wheels for 89 quid.

I can never recommend the 500s enough. Mine have done thousands of miles of often foul weather commuting with only 2 hub strips and overhauls, no parts required, rims never went out of true, no spokes ever gone.....blinding, rugged wheels for the money.

Yes i wanted these. My mate at work has them and reckons they are great. Out of stock in shimano though. Went for campag khamsins in the end.
