Damaging the slates is the biggy, next to braking (!) your neck, so I suggest renting a helicopter. If you are not in a hurry and dead keen on DIY you could learn how to fly one in no time at all and then you hover over your house and abseil down to fix the flashing - oh wait - I've just spotted a flaw in my idea.
Why not put a bucket under where it leaks?

Well obviously I have a helicopter, but I can't fly it and work on the flashing at the same time, can I? Can we try and keep the suggestions sensible please?
