fraser, after much searching i had a thought and reading all your recent threads , 2 things you need to consider, 1 your worried about tyres, well, tyres are tyres, you can buy slicks or chucky tyres and many that are a cross between the 2 so try not to write off bikes because the tyres look a bit chucky or too slick.

2nd do you need suspension forks, because if im honest, cheap suspension forks are a waste of money, they are crap, absorb almost nothing, add alot of weight and cost.

your pretty tall, not sure if your tall enough for this, but maybe you are.

the entry version of this bike starts around the £400 mark, a couple of years old, i think £250 wouldnt be out of the question,
the seller doesnt state which model it is, so you could get lucky, but even if not, its a worthy bike to look out for.

Specialized Globe would work too.


suspension has its merits, cheap suspension or a waste of money and slows you down.
