I'm looking for suggestions for a tour of Spain next year. I have about a month, maybe slightly longer in May/June. This year I cycled the whole way round Spain starting at the northeast tip at Roses, down the Med coast to Almeria, then cutting inland through the Alpujarras to Gibraltar. Then via Seville, Salamanca, a little deviation to Portugal then to San Sebastian. I really love Spain - the climate and people are great, I'm not bad at the language, accommodation is cheap and plentiful and once you get away from the tourist areas the roads are deserted.

I'm open to suggestions but will probably start at Roses again as this is where Bike Express drops off. I could make this my finish point as well. This time I want to take it a bit easier and do less distance and have more time to enjoy the places.

I agree with you, I love touring in Spain, so little luggage/weight needed due to the climate is a huge plus. I will be going early June, the football Euros are on which means even little places will be fun at night, they were in 2012. :okay: I am thinking of flying to Bilbao, riding to Gijon, then down to Seville.

Why not head down to to Seville and do the Via de Plata ?

I'd forgotten about the Euros. How long are you going for?

Don't know, as long as poss, I can drink beer and watch football in Spain for a lot less hassle than in my house.....................I always big tour every other year, World Cup then Euros, people are in a good mood, bars are busy etc.
