People make jokes about Jimmy Saville, Josef Fritzl and numerous other monstrous people. (who could not be described in your words as a "ridiculous black man.")?????
It is normal. It has nothing to do with politics, it's a way of dealing with horrendous facts. Mass murderers, crazed dictators, all get the same treatment.

Well, looks like Robert Mugabe has been deposed.
That nice treacherous shenanigans man said on TV that he hasn't.

This got me thinking. What does a recently unemployed elderly dictator with a penchant for whacky outfits and hilarious quotes do with himself?
It's looking like Trump might need a new Attorney General soon... a match made in heaven?

BTW try not to confuse Jeff Sessions and John Sessions. One is an improvisational comedian and the other is a Scottish comic and actor.

I've just posted this on the politics on the move thread, usefeul to post it here too....

To my family in Zimbabwe (Byo and Harare) the lock down, army on the streets, gunfire and explosions are not matters for light hearted discussion. The situation is very real, very dangerous and very political.

Lets have a jokey thread about the NI Troubles should we?

Fingers crossed for your family, I hope they're all ok.

In no way jokey, but one of my colleagues in the office is originally from Zimbabwe, and we is very happy this afternoon. He feels there is now hope for his country, he says that even under military rule it has to be better than it is now.

I hope everything is ok for them. I am also thinking of my Zimbabwean friends (i lived in Byo for a few years in the early nineties and taught at Eveline High School) though most of them have found a way to live elsewhere some time ago.
