I used to go out with a girl called Octavia. Her booty was pretty impressive.
Piccies or it didn't happen...

One of the 64K
LS400 Lexus and keep the Astra for everyday. I loved my £400 LS, did me a year despite only intending to keep it 6 months, including Vienna and back at 130mph where allowed. Starter motor would have been doable when it went but I couldn't be bothered (plenty of warning it was going). Treat yourself and take advantage of cheap big engined motors with old person insurance costs :-)

Or get something sensible.

Coming exactly in between the Astra and Insignia for length (surprisingly) is the Merc C class saloon. The look bigger than they are. I had one of the older ones and that was lovely on a run. Smallish car but feels big. Very good MPG in both the petrol and diesel options.

I've got a Fabia estate, very practical. 3 of us just went away, perfectly comfortable

Pretty economical, 250 mixed miles from £40 of super unleaded, can't bear the smell of diesel. I have the yobby VRS version with a DSG autobox ;) Other versions a bit erm sluggish for me!

Got two dismantled bikes and several boxes of bits and two sets of wheels in with the seats down. Whole bikes go in too

The Octavia is the next size up, bit bigger than a golf

My parents have the 1.4 DSG yeti which is also a really nice car, decently fleet of foot and economical

BMW and Auto Union made aero engines for the Luftwaffe, but they tend to keep that quiet. VW used slave labour during manufacturing in WWII, including abandoning the babies of slaves to starve to death, which is bad enough, but then lied About it until the 1990s, whkch in its way is worse. They only came clean when the weight of evidence against them became too huge to ignore, and only then paid compensation to the survivors.

Many car companies have a shady past in some way, and WWII is a long time ago. However, the mid 90s is recent history so I won't own a VW group car no matter how good they may allegedly be.

I got some Peugeot pepper grinders, which are quite nice.
I have a mitsubishi Colt 1.5 DiD, very nice and underrated
From the company that brought us...

I understand that the boys at Vauxhall torture puppies and eat dead Nuns for lunch.

Speaking of Vauxhall, th chap over the road from me has just bought a 14 plate Zafira and it looks most spiffing. A mate of mine has an original mark 1 that he treats appallingly, but which refuses to lay down and die.
