Looks like Hamilton's outpaced Alonso in the free practice for the British GP. And the Ferraris are outpacing both of them, but there's not much in it. Predictions for the race anyone?

Rain

Some mad bloke running onto the start/finish straight.

3 hours trying to get out of the car park.

Ah yes the interminable wait to get out of the Silverstone car park is negated
by having a Citroen with Hydropneumatic suspension. Much hilarity ensues
when normal Mondeos and Vectras try to follow you across the grass banks then realise they can't raise their suspension and grind to an embarressing
halt whilst spinning their wheels ineffectively as they've "bellied" the car. Oh
how we laughed!

Looking forward to seeing how our Lewis gets on on the day. Wish I was there to cheer him on!

Shame about all this espionage nonsense though.....

Fingers crossed that the Ferraris provide a bit of a challenge to Lewis so we get some good racing but of course I want our new boy wonder to win.

I think we might get to see how good he is in the wet this weekend. He's got to get it wrong sometime this season.

It really ought to be exciting, but strikes me as nothing more than a 160mph traffic jam. Yawnsville!

I have to agree with Bren.
You see more exciting overtaking maneuvers round the fizzy pop aisle in Tescos on pension day than you do in F1.

I agree MotoGP is much more exciting to watch IMO, but there again I've always preferred riding motorbikes to driving cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So did I get this right..? LH came third instead of first because he didn't wait for the lolipop to be taken away from him...

F1 is a funny old sport...

Despite what the papers said, the lollipop incident only delayed him by a couple of seconds, and didn't lose him the race.

Yes, apart for the Lollipop thing, apparently he didn't have a large enough lead, over the Ferrari, for a two stop strategy (I've been reading up  )

IMO F1 just seems a bit of an overhyped 'procession' to a chequered flag. But ...LH has done very well - on the podium in all his races.

This is quite revealing about the role that the car plays in the proceedings...
