People are still using disposable BBQs and throwing cigarettes or bottles or tins on the tinder dry ground . It is amazing how brainless some people are.

Given the current wind, Manchester. Fair size fire near Harlech too now.
Been grim riding to work in it. Just knocked off the effort so I'm not pulling air deep into my lungs.
Zoom.earth is interesting. Yesterday morning's smoke (red are hotspots).

Much better last night and today. Can't smell a thing now. Looked at live satellite maps and there doesn't appear to be the same level of smoke, and the 'heat' detection is a much smaller mass than previous days. Looks like it's much more under control.

Bad Thursday evening here. Had to literally close all windows and not use the ac as the pipe goes out a window and the acrid smell was coming in. Very unpleasant night in the heat. Been in Wales all day for fresh air at a lake. Came back earlier, no smell, but as the evening has gone on we've had to shut windows. Fortunately it's not coming in the bathroom window where the ac vent pipe runs to.

Still not good - we had a little respite from the smoke on Sunday, but it's back this morning. Things aren't good elsewhere - large fires around Aviemore - one of the campsites we are 'hopefully' visiting in September has been evacuated - people have left their tents/belongings. So far it's OK, but not safe for people to stay (Glenmore Campsite in the Forest).
