That reminds me of a Viz cartoon strip, Fat Slags I think. Baz is out on Christmas Eve with the two girls. It's 10 mins to midnight and Baz decides he ought to start his Christmas shopping. He goes into a garage shop looking for some Ferrero Rocher for his Mrs.
Cut to Christmas morning Mrs Baz sits there looking puzzled after unwrapping a 5ltr can of Duckhams.

I just arrived from my sister's place. Some gypsy programme was on the TV, which made me wince a bit - partially because I used to live near one of the locations and well, because I don't watch telly etc. comme d'habitude, and the subject matter was a bit startling for an innocent like me.
