He's got a new book out which, given the title at least, seems to take a pop at Dawkins. That's an enjoyable proposition obviously and, according to the Grauniad review John Cary (the "screaming Lord Sutch of academe" as Wheen calls him) is also in the line of fire as an added bonus.

Why so?

Ok, Dawkins can be somewhat strident, but that is usually in response to journos who have the attention span of gnats, are too lazy to read what he actually says and too thick to understand it if they did. And you do have to support his unswerving message that theories come and go but facts and the scientific method are the basis for any sensible society.

Why so?

Because he's forced me to become religious. I’ve started to believe in god, creationism and intelligent design, and the reason that I now believe in god and creationism and intelligent design is because of none other than Professor Richard Dawkins. When I look at something as complex and intricate and beautiful as Professor Richard Dawkins, I don’t think that just could’ve evolved by chance! Professor Richard Dawkins was put there by god to test us, like fossils. And facts.
