I have a mate who has been called to a meeting with her manager, and she's been told that according to her contact she's only allowed another colleague or a union rep (she's not in a union) in there with her.

From memory I think she's legally entitled to have whoever she wants with her, can anyone give me the correct answer with a reference as to where she can back her claim up?

Normally this is limited to a colleague or a union rep/official.
Others can attend but this only depends on what the relevant discipline policy says at the work place.

If in any doubt speak to union they are in or, if not in a union, citizens advice ASP

If I was her, I'd be busily looking for alternative employment as I'd say it's pretty inevitable her days there are numbered.
