Might need to consider where you'll get replacement hoods when they wear out

Microshift kit works fine. I don't see why it being made in Taiwan is an issue, especially when 90% of the world's bicycle manufacturing industry is based there already.

Microshift are a relatively new manufacturer and although there is room for improvement, the consensus is that they offer great value for money.

They have a UK distributor and are sold by an increasing number of shops, so spares aren't a problem.

Blaze a trail secure in the knowledge that, free from the ties of brand snobbery, you have scored "banker's bonus" kit at "pocket money" prices!

PS Cofidis used then on their TT bikes in, I think, 2008 and it is being fitted as OE by an increasing number of manufacturers.

I have a mate who has Super Record and Dura-ace shod bikes and he swears by Microshift. They also weigh next to nothing. A number of manufacturers you see on the high street use them, Felt iirc do. Lot of bang for your buck. The only downside imho is the gear cable routing which at present isn't under the bartape.

Thanks for the information.

I've just seen some videos of the shifters and they look quite good.

Stay away from 8 & 9 speed. I've heard nothing but bad about those speed shifters when I did some research into buying some myself. You're better off with the 10 speed Bona, White & Arsis.
See if you can get some of the Nashbar version (cheaper U.S relabelled version) imported from the U.S.

These Nashbar versions for example.
