Royal Wooton Bassett our latest Royal Borough? If so well done.
Mawkish nonsense. Maybe if we didn't make such a flapdoodle about dead soldiers, young men and women wouldn't be so keen to waste their lives to further the inane ambitions of politicians and our tabloid Press.

Good God, is that what it's come to? Whatever your political leaning, surely it's befitting to acknowledge the efforts and sacrifices made by our armed forces. This has always been the case. I know it's trite to say, but if everybody shared your opinion 70-odd years ago, you would be speaking (and typing) in German.
Be proud of our servicemen and women.

The guys and gals at the front are doing a great job I'm sure, but at the same time, I can't help but think

'Help For Heros? Its their job, they CHOSE to be there, nobody is forcing them to be there!'

Most wars are just inane political posturing.

I wasn't that impressed with it as a town tbh. And it definitely needs a greasy spoon

Royston Vaisey moments...funnily enough, I was talking about exactly the same thing yesterday Mart - when the news came on the radio. Abundant free coffee with meals though.

I think the Wooton Bassett thing is like someone dies and some people buy flowers and then other people follow as it seems the “right thing to do”, but is must be very nice for the relatives and friends to think all these people have come to welcome a dead hero home.
As for the name change was that really needed ?

I don't expect the families of the dead soldiers would agree, and I'm sure, in your own way, you appreciate the necessity of the armed forces as a safeguard of your country's borders and overseas interests (and yourself and your family of course).

I don't think there is any need to sully the lives of dead soldiers and those who wish to pay them respects to make a point about the political puppetry of the armed forces; you can start a thread in the debates forum if you want to discuss the construct and heirarchy of the armed forces and what influence Westminster may have.

What a completely TWATTISH statement! You quite clearly have your head burried so far up your own ass that daylight is just a distant memory!

No-one is "keen to wastetheir lives" - I find it hard to comprehend how you could make such a crassly stupid statement!

But only if you got the "correct" meal and asked nicely three times. Jeez it was easier to get from Oz to Kansas than it was to get coffee from that bloke.
