During the evening ride I found a heron.
There I found a couple of badgers. Going down a treat with cricket.

I’ve stayed at “Badger billet” at Strensall Barracks. There was a set there and a couple of signs warning you not to feed the Badgers. I seem to remember they loved spring rolls and crispy duck but not so keen on Guiness….I do still have all my fingers too!

I was woken up at 3 this morning by my security light, I heard rustling outside my bedroom window so I checked my AI camera and found it had spotted this - when I checked the video it was a solitary juvenile, if the food waste bin gets robbed I have a suspect!!

I couldn't see it in the front garden but I could see and hear shrubs moving!

Last one i saw was on a Fridays ride to Kings Lynn, poked it's head out from the hedge but quickly went back.

Usually see a lot of dead ones though.

Saw three badgers end of last month. About 4 in the morning whilst riding.

A couple of years ago, when we were staying in Far Sawrey, we found out about the pub linked below & were going to drive over (via the 'chain ferry')
However, Sods Law had other ideas, because as soon we set off, a headlamp bulb blew 🤬
i didn't fancy the road to/back from the ferry (& a lot further round if it had stopped running by the time we were ready to return)
(quite a few photos before & after)

It's at Rydal, between Ambleside & Grasmere

Is that the place someone stole the stuffed badger from the bar? I think it may have been a stunt round about last Christmas.

It is actually shorter not using the ferry, and going direct via Hawkshead to Ambleside and onwards to Rydal.
