it keeps acting on inadvertently fingered gestures in an unpredictable and angry-making way.
* I must add that using a USB mouse avoids problems with touch gestures but that isn't what I bought a laptop for.
Same here, I bought mine six months ago and I hardly use it. It came with 8.1 and I installed the classic desktop, but the sodding bloatware that came installed downloaded pop ups by the score till I'd got rid of them all. And I hate the touchpad.I have a Windows 8.1 laptop laying disused in a drawer. I returned to my old Windows 7 laptop with a broken left mouse button because it's easier to use. I did try to get along with Windows 8, but my patience ran out, especially with the touch pad, even when I've disabled all multi-touch functions like 'zoom' it keeps acting on inadvertently fingered gestures in an unpredictable and angry-making way.
