Lots of info on the web telling you how to tame Win8. If you really want to you can make just like Win7.

I hated it so much I went back to windows 7. You can't make it just like windows 7, you can make it look a bit like windows 7 but the stupid stupid search system, and the changes they made to folders are still there. It also still does not work properly if you are running more than one monitor.

My son bought a new computer with Windows 8 a couple of months back and he said it was OK after he got used to it in about two weeks and he doesn't feel the need to revert to Windows 7 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know about Windows 8 but Viz has a strip this month (part of it below) about how crap Outlook Express is, as the crew of the USS Enterprise struggle to open a message from the Captain. He's under attack, and asking desperately to be phased aboard from a dangerous planet...

My 8.1 freezes and scrambles any open files. I've just lost 2 hours work. Thanks M$

I am getting used to Windows 8.1, but many times I have felt like throwing my laptop out of the window. My mum asked me some advice about buying a laptop. I said just make sure it does not have Windows 8. If it drives me mad, it would drive her potty.

Not quite a Windows 8 issue but a Customer just dropped in a laptop this morning as it came with malware infections out of the box!

They bought the laptop yesterday, and when we checked the install date for the suspect software it was about a week ago! That's what you get for buying a laptop from PC World lol

I have a Windows 8.1 laptop laying disused in a drawer. I returned to my old Windows 7 laptop with a broken left mouse button because it's easier to use. I did try to get along with Windows 8, but my patience ran out, especially with the touch pad, even when I've disabled all multi-touch functions like 'zoom' it keeps acting on inadvertently fingered gestures in an unpredictable and angry-making way.
Same here, I bought mine six months ago and I hardly use it. It came with 8.1 and I installed the classic desktop, but the sodding bloatware that came installed downloaded pop ups by the score till I'd got rid of them all. And I hate the touchpad.
