maps huh! stupid things, totally unreadable for me. how little squiggles on a two dimensional bit a paper are meant to somehow tell me where i am in the 3d space in which i occupy is quite beyond me
i get lost all the time, it's not that i can't be bothered to orientate myself, it's that i can't. i can't think "well i know i pass that junction" because every junction looks like every other, one stretch of gray tarmac pretty much like every other etc etc. people that just seem to know the way must have some savant like ability i reckon;)
more seriously though, i'm not sure being able to read maps and so on should be held in such high regard, or indeed that those more geographically challenged should be looked down on. it's just really difficult for some people

Granda........ Velocidad, I wasn't having a pop at you, and I should have thought before putting finger to keyboard.

I am an ex-Army orienteer, and a glider pilot, so need to have good MRS (map reading skills), and have always been one for reading maps anyway. I just thought people would have a similar ability as me.
