I courted my wife-to-be on roller skates in the early '80's. Love on sixteen wheels. Skates then had clever things that enabled you to steer just by leaning. I'm not sure that strapping a couple of Brompton wheels to your boots would give you the same level of control, but I'm not a unicyclist.

Stopping seems the most obvious issue.
At least skates had rubber stoppers on the front.

I think I'd make it about 6'3"ft from my starting point. I'd gain that distance by falling flat on my face.

Indeed! They still have them on most designs, Mrs C and I have got converted ice hockey skates and even they come with brakes. :laugh:
