I've only got an Anytime upgrade vista disk so I can't do a Windows repair with it
Well I gave you the solution but you were quick to dismiss it.
With Drivemax you can make a backup of all your current drivers in a zip file or folder then when you have re-installed the OS again you re-install Drivemax and get the program to re-install all the drivers previously backed up. It can even find updates for your drivers.
I have done that with a HP Pavillion ZE4800 - quite old laptop and it worked fine.
