No, but for mtb-ers I can see they'd be useful to have in the boot. Leave the mud at the trails.
Ha! My dirtiest bike is usually my Brompton when commuting into Salford.Fine for a MTB if you are into getting covered in mud on your rides, for a road bike, absolutely no need.

You never had mud so thick on your wheels that they no longer go around have you. Take a lot of wipes to clean one of those.
