If I only rode in the dry I would have missed a lot of great rides over the last nigh on 50 years of cycling. Done plenty of races where the wheels will not turn, the faster you go though the longer it takes to really gunge up.

I've never had what I would call a great ride in the wet. Get too cold to enjoy it. Each to their own

As you say, one of the rides I did that gave me great satisfaction and still does was a Police fitness test ride, 100 miles off road and it rained start to finish, cannot say I enjoyed every mile of the ride but the feeling of beating it was very satisfying.

One of the things I find great about bikes and the people who ride them is the wide variety of getting pleasure from them. Now do not get me wrong I enjoy a sunny ride as much as the next person, but that would really limit my time on a bike if I only rode on those days. Certainly I do not put down anyone who is fair weather cyclist, good on them, far better than not being a cyclist.

I'm neither a fair nor foul weather cyclist right now unfortunately :sad: I am as a result using fewer baby wipes however ;)
