Anyone here ever owned a Gios ?

.... either a Torino Professional or Record model.

Interested to know if they are worth the big $$$ for an excellent/near mint frameset or complete bike.

I have seen frame/forks up to £600 & bikes at over £2k !

I am trying to own one but it is not that easy. Being based in Belgium there are a reasonable number about, a legacy of the Brooklyn team of the 1970s with de Vlaminck, Patrick Sercu etc. However, half the ads in the local equivalent of gumtree are for obvious fakes and the rest are either poorly restored, or the worse for wear.

The prices on the glossy vintage websites are steep but someone must be prepared to pay as they sell quickly and after all they are far less common than say a Gazelle champion Mondial.

What are they like to ride? I confess that a couple of minutes on a battered, too small Super Record with under inflated tubs was not long enough to find out. But, it was long enough for me to decide that I want to find out
