Who, me ?
If so, can you let your postie know that all is well?
I was on holiday last week in Wiltshire and halfway through this ride. After coffee and scones with Mrs F70100 at the Manor Tearooms, I left Avebury going east along Herepath or Green Street following the gpx route that I'd planned. The postlady stopped me to ask if I was sure that I was going the right way as Green Street was a dead end and that although there was a footpath leading up over Fyfield Down, it was in no way suitable for bikes. I was fairly sure that I'd planned my route following mostly NCN routes but couldn't off the top of my head recall if this was one.
Postie was most insistent that I should follow her directions, involving the A4, to Marlborough. Not keen on that idea, I said, three times, that I would give my route a try and if I did't like it, I would turn round and come back. With that, she took off in a mini flounce looking distinctly unimpressed.
It turned out to be fantastic. A bit steep about halfway up but the views from the top were fab, even if I did have to duck to avoid a Puma (I think) helicopter hooning across the Down...
Anyway, please reassure postie that I'm ok.
