Seen at the tea stop on a ride today. So don't let them in the larder.

Not exactly stealing, but an illustration of what they'll do for food. There's a wonderful pub in Aldworth, Berkshire called the Bell. When I was there a couple of years ago they had a chook wandering round the beer garden which would leap vertically for scraps of roll, probably clearing two feet from a standing position, without even flapping its wings. Must have amazingly powerful legs! Don't know what breed it was, but it was quite large (from eating scraps of roll?) and a real character.

We don't have any but the next door neighbour does and so we get to look after them when they are away. Last time a hedgehog got into the hen house so they wouldn't go to bed, and the next night one got stuck on the fence. We are due to look after them next Saturday and I'm wondering what antics they are already planning for us:laugh:
