I wonder sometimes, if age is creeping up on me....

Yesterday, I had to go into work. Went my normal route, which involves a crossroads with traffic light control, where I nearly always need to stop. Pulled up at red, and waited.

A lady cycled up behind me, then past me, just over the line, then hopped off, walked the bike briskly across the road, there being no traffic, and then hopped back on. I watched, slightly irritated - I mean why bother? Why not just wait for the green?

<Look up at traffic lights>

They are green. Yikes! Start to push off. Lights go immediately to amber. Stop. I'd sat through an entire green sequence without noticing.

The odd thing is, when that lady was getting off and walking through, the lights must have been green anyway! So she's battier than me....

You're not alone. I threw a tea bag in my fresh coffee yesterday.

Arch its called a senior moment, we all get them and they become more frequent as we get older, they can be very embarrassing/irritating or both.

Walking into a room then realising you've forgotten why you went there is another sign.....

Sitting at my desk, those times when I think "now what was I about to do?" with a blank mind for a few seconds are increasing as I approach 40.

Cor! That happens to me almost continuously now. Keeps me active though as I generally wonder off in a direction, stop because I've forgotten where I was going, go back and sit down and then remember where I was going and get back up again.

Is it wrong that I have such moments all the time and I'm 'only' 31?

I like to think it's more the fault of having such an active imagination. I rarely pay full attention to the world around me.

Others might claim it may have something to do with my teenage substance abuse!

Picture this: you find yourself standing in the middle of a flight of stairs, having got distracted momentarily by your own thoughts, and when you 'come to' you realise you can't remember whether you were going up stairs or down (let alone why). Oh yes...

I had a 'senior moment' the other week-unfortunately I was half-way to Llandudno when I realised and had to come all the way back.

Does it make it worse if I admit that on Saturday I timed going out for my Chinese takeaway so as to be back for Strictly Come Dancing....

Yes, I thought it would...

I tried to make a cup of tea recently. Boiled the kettle, put the milk in the mug, poured the boiling water into the teapot, put the teacosy on, left to stew while I opened the biscuits, removed the teacosy, and poured out...

...boiling water.

I don't even have an excuse...I'm barely out of my teens!
