Me and Mrs. Admin are going to London for a weekend in May for our 10th anniversary and wanted to take in a show.

We've had a look at what's on and fancy Wicked - anyone seen it, and is it good?

Cheers,
Shaun

Yep, saw it about 3 years ago at Victoria. Seen quite a few shows in the West End over the years and my Wife and I both considered this to be at the top end. Several others I know who have seen it all agree. Go for it.

Also really enjoyed Priscilla Queen of the Desert!!! You know whay you're gonna get and it's great entertainment - if you like that sort of thing!

Saw it a few years ago now, it's a top show. You won't be disappointed. Avoid the shows that featured in TV talent - Oliver, Wizard of Oz. A bit panto. Sweeney Todd is also worth a look.

wife and eldest saw it as part of Kids week a few years back. they loved it and haven't shut up about it. only other musical that wifey never shuts up about is RHPS and that is brilliant (yes i have before anybody asks, and if you need to ask what then you don't want to know )

go and see Wicked

I saw it a couple of weeks ago. I'll be honest and say it was OK, but not great. Glinda the Good witch was played very well, with a number of knowing grins and comments to the audience.

However, there's a contrived story line which in a politically correct way alters the original Wizard of Oz history, and amends what you know from the original film/book, to get them to fit in with what the producers want to say.

From a technical viewpoint, the dancing and singing were very good on the whole, although some of the crowd scenes could have been handled better. However there's only 1 song which had any vaguely memorable hooks in it.

I only paid £30 a seat for very good seats so I'll be generous and say as a musical it only rates 6 out of 10.
