Good spot! Ok, I tried that, but nothing looked teribly promising, and those HP instructions just say 'chaging the boot order varies between models, blah de blah, so I tried...

...which looks quite promising. Tho' I don't see CD. Which seems a bit odd. I'm off to Google to find out what 'Benutzer' means...

Hello - moderately compentent German speaker here!

The Sicherheit (Security) page is mustly about setting up passwords for various stuff (Benutzer means User).

Can you get more stuff by hitting enter on the "startsequenz" line on the start page?

Just noticed on the RH menu on that page there is mention of a CD-ROM:

All of the IDE controller which connected equipment system board can with permitted field disabled. disabled IDE hard drives, IDE CD ROM drives and other connected to the IDE controller devices will not appear in the system configuration

All devices connected to the main IDE controller can be deactivated with this setting.
Deactivated IDE hard drives, IDE CD-ROM drives and other devices connected to the IDE controller will not appear in the system configuration.
