We have a nordman spruce, which is a bit of a compromise - the needles stay on much longer but it doesn't have much of that lovely Christmas tree smell.
. In fact its one of this house's Christmas traditions is making fun of his pained expression as he goes to hunt down a tree. (The things he does in the name of love!!!)
