I use it all the time, think it's really good for me planning routes.Anyway as i do 28 miles round trip to work(enough for a mildly chunky cyclist(mrs definition of me).Anyway since i took up cycling 5 months ago i've lost 3 stone and saved alot in travel expenses.Have you ever set yourself a dream distance ? course you have lol well mine is 50 miles, maybe not alot to some but its my crucible.Well i finally did it today on my mtb before my road bike arrives friday so i'm knackered but over the moon. This is the link to the route i did

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
No - don't use mapometer (use bikehike a lot), but that route prompted memories - used to cycle those lanes 50 years ago, when I was a member of Solihull CC. Of course if we wanted to get anywhere in a hurry we simply used the main roads! - and my uncle lived in Digby Drive, Marston Green - I remember playing in Chelmsley Wood when it was just that - woodland.

I use "my tracks", which was brilliant until the "upgrade"??? download. It still works, but has trouble getting gps. Anyone else got experience with this?

I have used runkeeper (which is good), but for the last month I have been trying out strava (which can become very addictive trying to beat your best times)

I do a lot of cycling along bridleways, byways, paths, farm tracks etc, in fact anything to avoid bloody cars, and find the Ordnance Survey maps the only ones I can realistically plan rides from. I use Memory Map to downloand the OS maps from my laptop onto the GPS thingy when I'm exploring new places. You can also download OS equivalents for abroad too, and I used it get to Amsterdam last year and miraculously managed not to lose my way once!
