Listening on the radio - very well placed in this test but given how unprecedented this is, I'm trying to manage my personal expectations. Surely something will go wrong soon ?!

Cook is the youngest batsman ever to reach 7000 test runs. The former holder of the record was Sachin Tendulkar.

I can hardly believe I've typed that. Cook has outstripped Tendulkar. Time to put the kettle on.

Its a bit arbitrary - runs equivalent - 4 wickets equivalent to century - catch or not catch plus minus 15, run out = wicket
